Dishcloth 15: Aster Flower

  • Needles: US 7 - 4.5 mm.
  • Worsted Yarn: Lion Brand Kitchen Cotton, two color, .
  • Finished Measurements: 6” x 6”
ABBREVIATIONS
RS, WS: right side, wrong side.
K: knit.
P: purl.
K1 ulsb: Knit stitch with the loose strand behind.

How to knit Aster stitch

  • Step 1: Insert the right needle from right to left, slip next 5 sts to right needle the dropping extra wraps.
  • Step 2: Insert the left needle from left to right into 5 stitches on the right needle. 
  • Step 3: [(p1, yo] twice, p1) into all 5 stitches together.

How to knit K1 ulsb

  • Step 1: Insert the left needle from front to back, under the loose strand behind next stitch. Lift it onto the needle. 
  • Step 2: Knit the loose strand with next stitch together.

Aster Flower Dishcloth Pattern

Color A, cast on 35 stitches (or multiple of 6 stitches, plus 5)
Row 1 Color A Knit
Row 2
Color A Knit
Row 3 Color B K2, *sl 1 wyib, k5 wrapping yarn twice around needle for each st; repeat from * to last 3 sts, sl1, k2.
Row 4 Color B K2, sl1 wyif, *Aster stitch, sl1 wyif; repeat from * to last 2 sts, k2.
Row 5 Color A K8, *k1 ulsb, k5; rep from * to last 3 sts, k3, 
Row 6 Color A Knit.
Row 7 Color B K5, *sl 1 wyib, k5 wrapping yarn twice around needle for each st; repeat from * to last 6 sts, sl1, k5.
Row 8 Color B K5, sl1 wyif, *Aster stitch, sl1 wyif; repeat from * to last 5 sts, k5.
Row 9 Color A K11, *k1 ulsb, k5; rep from * to last 6 sts, k6.
Row 10 Color A Knit.
Repeat rows 3-10 until you reach the desired length.
Afterwards, bind off, weave in all ends. 
Insert the left needle from front to back, under the loose strand behind next stitch. Lift it onto the needle.
Knit the loose strand with next stitch together.
